Day 2 Geraldton

Sunday in Geraldton is a quiet affair, after breakfast it was off to the  Tourist info office to ask about Fishing Charters. Unfortunately, at this time of the year there is a fishing ban along the whole coast so most charter boats are not operating. In Kalbarri, some may still operate on tag and release, I will find out more later. So this morning we went to the  Railway Markets and that had the usual stuff, nothing special, we then went to the museum and then the beach and got our feet wet. After that it was lunch and then in the afternoon we went to the St Francis Xavier Church, a Byzantine style catholic church. After that, coffee and ice cream, then dinner and now a beer.

After that we made our way north via the Pinnacles last night and stayed at Cervantes. This morning we drove up to Geraldton via Port Dension on the way.

Today, my brother Howard and I went out to Northam and York. We had morning tea of a pie in this really nice pie shop at Bakers Hill and then on to York for Lunch, a kebab.

I did not go to the motor museum at York this time, although I have been before.

Fremantle

This morning I went to east Fremantle, near the Yacht club on the Swan river and took some more time lapse video.

I don't have a plan for this afternoons activity just yet.

Palmyra, Perth, Western Australia

Yes,

I am back on the road again, but only for a relatively short time.

Joy and I flew from Melbourne to Perth on Sunday and are staying in a suburb called Palmyra, which is very close to Freemantle. Joy is teaching Tapestry here for a few days before we head north on Friday.

Yesterday I got some new sunglasses (Spotters) which Joy has agreed to buy me for Christmas, good thing too as they were expensive. After buying the glasses I headed for Scarborough Beach where  the water was a beautiful blue /green and the sand white. I dipped my toes in the sea at the edge of the waves and the beach. It was very nice.

I tried setting up a time lapse movie of the beach while I was there and it worked sort of OK, the focus was not right, it was not focussed at infinity and the waves and sea looks slightly blurry. I will try again at another spot today.

After the beach I met my brother and his wife for lunch, we went to a restaurant at Hillary's by the sea and then checked out the lighthouse.

Today is a blank slate but later tonight it is back to my brothers for dinner with my nephew Ben.
