An anonymous commented, the Russians have "preserved the weekend". meaning, not a lot happening here on a Saturday afternoon. Pace in the street is quiet, with people casually enjoying the sunshine and war breeze. It is the summer solstice today, the longest day.
Here a a few pics I took this morning around Kirov Park, named after Sergei Kirov, Secretary of the Lenningrad Communist Party, an latter had been secretly shot by Stalin because of his popularity as a rival.
This afternoon I have been chatting with a Liverpuddlian, called Len, (now living in Edinburgh) who at 63, has rode his pushbike from St Petersburg to Irkutsk. Who now must fly back to the UK to get a new Russian Visa and get a part for his bike, before returning to finish off his bike trip to Vladivostok. Previously he had ridden from Ulan Bator (Mongolia) to Edinburgh. I said is good that he is making up for the exercise I do not do.
Now having a cold Russian beer with Len.
P.s I note that the "Read pages" report indicates that interest in the blog is falling, so I am getting boring and I need to bullshit it up a bit, or others are not doing their job.
