Arrived Cusco - Inca Capital of Peru

We all arrived in Cusco tonight safely. While Cusco is our final destination, we have one more ride to make, out to Ollantayambo and then by train to Aguas Clients where we stay a night, then up real early to visit Machu Pucchu at dawn. We then come back by train to Ollantaytambo and ride the last ride back into Cusco.

The trip over from Puno today was a very pretty ride/drive, there is also a train that goes along a similar route. It is all still part of the Altoplana, the highlands area if Chile, Bolivia and Peru, through which we have been travelling the past 10 days or so. Peru is nicer than Bolivia, more fertile and seems to be better looked after. Bolivia can be a bit of a dump at times.  It is not quite what I expected and the landscape changes a lot. For example, this morning you could be forgiven for thinking you were in the Scottish highlands, whereas this afternoon it seemed a bit more subtropical as we got closer to Cusco.

The altitude here in Cusco is better at only 3300 mtrs ABSL. I am hoping to put this feeling of sluggishness to an end. Hopefully it will also help with concentration for writing blogs as writing at the end of the day, as lately, they have been very slow to write from my end and hard work.

Tomorrow is  guided tour of Cusco.

Good market at Highest point of pass at 4300 mtrs.
