We caught the bus and train into town so it was lunchtime when we arrived, hence I had to have hamburger in Hamburg. After lunch, we went to the centre for Photography in Hamburg, the exhibition was focussed on media images, predominantly newspapers and advertising. Personally, I thought it was pretty ordinary and could have been much better. A lot of the exhibition wasn't even photography but other forms of images including cartoons and montage. (no photos allowed)
Moving on from there we went to the Hamburg Museum for Kunst and Gewerbe (Art and Trade), which had a very interesting side door and I am sure the primary sex education source for Hamburg School kids. The museum itself's program looked pretty uninteresting and after the failure of the photography exhibition, we decided to give it a miss.
The rest of the day was spent wandering around the streets of Hamburg, ducking getting drowned by rain. I did not take many pics but there is a music reference from the 70s/80s.

One thing I can say is that Europe has very patchy quality internet service, at many places we have been, the internet service has been crap. In general, China, Tibet and even Mongolia were better quality and faster.
This hotel in Hamburg is particularly bad tonight, hence the delay in posting images.
Adios, LB
Having diner tonight with Marianne and Arno, if you want you can visit us sunday and take a drive in the citroen DS.
ReplyDeleteHow many hamburgers in hamburg. Ich ben ein hamburger. tell arno from us - lights on, lights off.
ReplyDeleteBill, I nearly used the Ich ben ein Hamburger line, but let it go thinking it might be a bit too obscure. How many Hams in Hamb, ask Paul Kelly and I guess the Lights on, Lights off message is already passed on, whatever that meant.
