Day 4/5 Kathmandu - Daman

We yesterday we had our first outing on the "Royal Enfield" bikes, which are all 500cc single cylinder. They don't rev hard or go hard, but they putter away all day in1st, 2nd or 3rd. Going to Daman took 6 hrs to 120k, very slow, twisty, rough roads, but some  nice views in the valleys on the way. We stayed at the Everest Panorama Hotel, where on a clear day you can see the entire Himalayan range. Unfortunately, it was too hazy to see the peaks beyond the local hilltop ridges, although today on the way back, we did get a peak at a son capped peak beyond the local horizon. The resort is 2420 mfrs above sea level, which is higher than Kosciusko. I have comedown with hey fever  (Kathmandu Cough) and was feeling very woozy climbing all the steps needed to access the hotel. Did not ride back today, let the mechanic ride my bike whilst I rode in the support vehicle. Need to get better before tomorrow as we ride  on a  similar rough road 120 km to just inside the tibetan  border tomorrow. I am told the roads improve a lot when we get to Tibet. I hope so.  Need to acclimatise as tomorrow night is over 3000 mtrs and thereafter each night is around 4400mtrs. Thats over 4KM up. It will also be good to get some cooler temperatures, it has been hot and dusty everywhere in Nepal.

I post some photos later, when I sort out what i have.
