Kristinehamn, Sweden

We have travelled about halfway to Stockholm, stopping at a place called Kristinehamn. Which looked better than Karstad  which was rather industrial. Kristinehamn, is  a pleasant small town on a very big lake in Sweden. It has a big Picasso statue, designed to greet ships and an old Nordic Rune stone dating back to about the 6th century.

It turns the place we chose to stay at, the Family Camp Herrgard at Kristinehamn is an overpriced, mosquito infested dump and definitely NOT recommended. I hate false and misleading advertising, we were quoted 890 Krone to stay in a cabin with Toilet and shower. This is 3-4 star hotel price and more than I paid for a city hotel in Oslo Norway, and we know Norway ain't cheap. When we got here they wanted to charge an additional 800K for some sheets and cleaning fees (towels still not included). Thats nearly 2000k a night for essentially a dorm accommodation. In addition, they stated free internet. Well if you see this today I will be surprised as the internet connection here has been slow as a wet week and cuts out every few minutes. Its virtually useless, it wastes so much time in redoing stuff because it keeps failing. In short, there is no real service.

I was thinking of dedicating part of this blog, separate entries, just to carpet the more dodgy hotels I  have come across and expose their bullshit advertising claims, but have decide against a regular thing and will put into the www what I think of FAMILY CAMP Herrgard, Kristinehamn.

it is now 10.30 am and I am attempting to publish again from a different town.
