Arrived in Victoria, BC Vancouver Island this afternoon after a relaxed drive down from Parksville. We stopped at a place called Chemainus on the way, a small town by the coast but had a large murals located throughout the town. Later we tried to stop at a place called Goldstream, where, we were told we would see lots of Salmon spawning in the river. This must be true as the place was packed and not a car park anywhere to stop and look, so we missed that opportunity. It is a good thing I saw some salmon at the hatchery a few days ago.
Have not looked around Victoria yet, it is the principle city on Vancouver Island and seems like a fairly large city, bigger than I expected anyway. Not sure of the population. Tomorrow will be our chance to look around as Monday it is on the ferry back to Vancouver and Tuesday it is fly home for Joy and Hawaii for me. LBA is soon closing down (for a while) and it two weeks I will be thinking about getting some tomato plants in the garden.
