Aberystwyth - (Aber-Wrist-With)

Today was a day for the Train buffs.

First was a trip on the Vale of Rheidol, steam train from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge, about a 1 hr trip each way and an hour at Devil's Bridge.  Steam train buffs galore for this narrow gauge train line. Better a train than those poor little Welsh pit ponies dragging out coal and slate from the mines.

After the Vale of Rheidol experience, we went on the cliff railway in Aberystwth at the end of the promenade up the big hill.

After a short break back at the room, it was off for a walk along the Promenade to the Castle and the statue of "Our Lady with the Frisbee" then a beer on the Pier and some Chinese take away.

A good day.

Not sure what this building is, but if you look closely at the mural on the tower, the King is in the middle, with a train being offered on the left and a ship on the left.

  2. Just been shown how to use this. Have followed your journey all the way.
Some places in Europe and UK bring back memories of our trip 6 years ago.
