A Hard day at the office

Today started with a very nice breakfast, followed by a little break then a stroll into the village, past some ponies and nice houses to the man with the horse and cart. After pleasantries we loaded up on the cart and headed for a tour around the outskirts of the village, to a small church and the back through town for beer and supplies, before heading to a picnic ground.

We had a fire, to cook the big slices of bacon fat that went on steel skewers over the coals so the fat dripped onto the bread and when done, we had sandwiches of the fat and roasted onions and capsicum. Afterwards we had  some cooked pork leg, all washed down worth beer.

A short meander home through the forrest along the creek to a shower before a nice dinner of soup, very tender pork steaks and pancakes. washed down with wine and after, we had leftover birthday cake from yesterday and Quince Palinka, Rose and cognac.

They don't pay me enough for this kind of work.

  4. Nice horses and great cart, but what I really admire is that bloke's stack of firewood.

    1. Everyone in this village has a good stack of firewood because the town does not have mains gas.
