Easy drive up from Prague today, stopped briefly at Dresden for Lunch, you could see from the remaining buildings not destroyed in the allied bombing of Dresden during WW11 that this was once a grand city like Prague. In fact Prague did get bombed by the Americans during WW11 because they mistook it for Dresden. Why they wanted to bomb Dresden at all is one of life's mysteries.

Tomorrow, it is off to explore even more buildings, monuments, museums and churches and, the occasional bit of crumbling wall.

It was the Brits that wanted to bomb Dresden. It was in retaliation for the German bombing of medieval Coventry during the Battle of Britain. One unique city for another.
