Friday in Munich

Slow day today, first was to check out a lonely planet recommendation of a cafe called Marais, supposedly quaint and old worldly, but in fact nothing special. Then got to buy  new memory cards for the cameras, then sort of shopping for new bags (for Joy, not me) and then some ice-cream at the market. Good, but not as good as hungarian ice-cream.

Karlsplatz, Munich

It is not every day you see a store named after you, but Munich had one.  My Store.

A few nice pics from yesterday at BMW Welt

Having a well deserved beer at the end of the day.

The day finished  off with a beer at the local market/pub and then some Thai food (passable) tonight.

  1. Looks good. Good to see you only ordered the small beer. Restraint's a wonderful thing.

  3. Hungarian, Polish, Italian ice creams ... whatever. Best ice cream is nearer to home -- made by the Gourmet Ice Cream Company of Dunedin, NZ. They make a BEER ice cream! Speights Old Dark. It's great ice cream and it sure saves time in the business of refreshing oneself at the end of a warm day. -- Bolshoi Brat

    1. I can outdo that, I heard of an ice-cream maker here in Munich that makes a flavour of Dark Rye Bread and Onion. Combine that with a Beer and you have a complete meal!!

    2. Bread & onion ice cream ... hmm, you might need to wash that one down with a schnapps or three.
