Day 3 Valparaiso and Vina del Mar

Today, after making some arrangements for the next few days, we headed off to the Port cities of Valparaiso and Vina del Mar. They were about 2 hrs away by bus. Valparaiso was also established in 1536 and it served as the Port for Santiago. Valparaiso, is a very hilly city with many universities and artists. It is also World Heritage Listed by Unesco. It was a long day and we did not get back until about 10.30 pm.

Tomorrow, we head south by train to Chillan, then we are going to Concepcion to pick up a hire car and we will drive the next two days down to Puerta Monnt and then transfer back to Puerta Varras, where will will go to Barraloche in Argentina via the scenic route using a combination of busses and ferries to cross three lakes.

I am still trying to find a post office open where I can buy some stamps and send a few postcards. They seem to be rare things here. I have not even seen a post box.

  1. You and Pablo look like old drinking buddies. Not a bad look.
