Hoy, Loch Ness, Ben Nevis & Fort William

Hi folks, only made it as far as Fort William today, was hoping to get to Glasgow tonight, but it is another 100 mile to go and we thought best to get a B&B and stop.

Easy trip on the ferry this morning, it rained a bit but the crossing was relatively calm, although overcast and gray. Got some nice pics of Hoy (the most southerly of the Orkney islands) and the "Old Man of Hoy, a sandstone pillar, off the edge of the 1000 ft high Hoy cliffs. I am told they are the highest cliffs in the UK.

After getting off the ferry, it was mostly drive drive drive all day as it is over 300 mile (nearly 600k) from Scrabster to Glasgow. We went a slightly longer way by going past Loch Ness and finished the day at Fort William.

Here are the Pics, a mixture of mine and Joys.

  1. Bear is at 12 South End, waterfront house on left with flag pole. But can't discern him in your pic -- res too low?
Glad you saw Nessie, but your hand is in the way of the rest of us getting a look.
