Montreal

As you may have guessed, we are in Montreal, arrived this afternoon by bus and then went for a walk around to get a feel for the place. First comment is that Montreal feels a lot bigger than Quebec city and whilst there is an Old City, it is not a walled city so has been less well preserved. Where we are staying is close to the Old City but not in it. It is near the University and has a Carlton, St Kilda, Brunswick St feel about the place. Lots of restaurants, cafes and bars.

It has been (record breaking) warm here today for October, over 20C and humid. Forecast is rain next few days. I note on the news that Sydney (and presumably Melbourne) are copping a cold blast at the moments. TV is showing Kangaroos in the snow.

Lots more street people here and has a China town district and Vietnamese area, good for food later. We are in the Latin Quarter. Our Room at the Hotel Latin Quartier is a 1/4 of the size we had at the B&B in QC, although this place is half the price and seems clean and well located.

  1. No, the snow and record-breaking rain was not in Melbourne. We've had some cooler days (17 deg max) with col winds and some showers. Next week is going to be hot, they say.

  2. Was the micro brewery the SO's idea?
