There is a bear in there! or Ursa Major

Well I am back in the drivers seat, although in response to one comment, the Yukons do have adjustable pedal positions. Thanks Joy (Short One) for giving me a day off.

Thankfully it was another clear and sunny day here in Bozeman today (the LB effect), it was not like that yesterday afternoon, the rain and the wind howled in and it was freezing, dumping more snow on the mountains around Bozeman but none in Bozeman.

We have a couple of days here in Bozeman before flying to Vancouver on Friday. This morning we went to a Bear park just outside Bozeman to see some Grizzly bears that eluded us in the Park. Here we met Jake and Maggie, brother and sister bears about 8 yo.

This is Jake, we found him sleeping

This is Maggie, she was wide awake.

Jake woke up and decided to have a look around (and at us)

The keeper threw Jake some lollies (dried Cranberries) and Jake was happy

Jake found a ball, the pen was also filled with broken esky's (coolers). Different brands deliver their coolers to the park and they put food in them and lock them and they left in the pen. The ones that survive (not many) are then designated as "Bear Proof"

After the Bear park, we went to the Museum of the Rockies (MOR) in Bozeman. This Museum is mostly about showcasing the fossils of the dinosaurs found here in Montana, lots of them by the look of it. But the museum also had a couple of touring exhibitions, one a photo exhibition of Montana and Florida landscapes in B&W. The other was paintings and drawings of Cowgirls and Rancher women of the West. Also a section on Native peoples from Montana and a Planetarium. (Which I didn't get time for). When we were at the Bear Park, the keeper said we should visit Glacier National Park in the North of Montana. The photo exhibition had a few photos of the Glacier National park and it seems like he was right. In his view it is better than Yellowstone.

This is the Gibson Acoustic Guitar factory in Bozeman where the Special and Custom Guitars are made. I am hoping to get a tour of the place whilst I am here but its not looking good as I only really have tomorrow left. I am waiting on a call back. The other thing I want to do is go to the tin mining town of Butte, Montana, which is about 40 mile away.

A tri coloured tree.

P.S. The Glenn Miller Orchestra (sans Glenn I presume) are playing at the theatre tonight here in Bozeman, unfortunately I could not attend as I left my Tux at home.
