Salutations de Quebec City

Bonjour mes amis,

We arrived late last night from Toronto to Quebec City and stayed at a pre booked motel near the airport. Ordinary but cheap, it did the job. This morning I found a nice B&B on the web right in the heart of the old walled city of Quebec, called Castel d'Amerique  Francais on 31 Rue Sainte-Ursule.

After dropping our bags we went for a wander in the beautiful morning sunshine, we have been so lucky everywhere we have been with the weather (except Copenhagen).

Catch up pics from Iceland last day and pics of Canada so far. All looking good.

By the way comments have dried up recently, is no one out there tuning in?

I had said previously that Iceland had no trains, apparently I was wrong because they had this little tacker to help them build the docks.

Outside the Blue Lagoon, it is built in a lava field

Moss everywhere

Below, pics of the Bridge between Continents, a symbolic bridge placed over a rift to define the split in Iceland between the Eurasian and American tectonic plates.

On this side of the Bridge you are on the Eurasian Plate

Wander across and you are on the Nth American plate, it is that simple.

Joy pushing the continents apart, she is a tectonic force to be reckoned with sometimes.

  1. Still enjoying your blog immensely Doug and Joy. Stunning photos. Love the red kilt and the new red coat Joy. Yesterday it reached 30 deg in Melbourne - today's max is forecast to be 15 deg :-)

  3. Moe street covers, are you in a bad part of town?
So far my count is 2 hat buys proudly worn, but not to be seen again? Come on, how about you get them out and in some photos.
Yes we are still monitoring your progress but miss the controversial and opinionated bloke I know. How about you add some more danger like at the start of the trip, this may elicit more commentary.

    1. Even the posh parts of town need sewer covers, as for danger, that is my middle name. The hat photo is in todays post. Was Iceland not adventurous enough. It will be Yellowstone next week with bears and wolves and other critters.
